Digital Savings

Fluid Finance, 2022 – 2023

Overview

Fluid Finance was a web and mobile app that combined traditional banking and crypto finances. The main feature of the app was transactions with fiat and cryptocurrencies. Additionally, Fluid provided interest on deposited money.

My task was to design the savings section of the app and create an entry point for third-party DeFi integrations — AAVE and Balancer, allowing users to supply their crypto funds and earn yield directly through our app.

The key metric for the project was the amount of the funds deposted into savings products.

User flow

I created a visual user flow to align with the team on feature functionality before designing the interface.

Mockups

I built mockups and flows using our existing design system.

Another additional task within the project was to engage and entertain our users while providing information. So, I designed a widget — a savings calculator — that allowed users to estimate their interest earnings based on deposited funds and the duration of holding. As a fun touch, the rocket on the graph moved accordingly. By the way, the rocket was the unofficial mascot of our company.

The second element of fun was displaying the risk profile of the savings product using chili peppers, similar to a spiciness grade. Both users and stakeholders were amused by these two small tweaks.

Launch and outcome

$60,000

deposited in a week

We launched the beta version of the vaults to gather user feedback. No major complaints were received.

Within the first week after the launch, we saw $60,000.00 deposited, marking a successful milestone for our project.
